It's funny how time has flown by. This is the New Year and January is almost done.
School is still going strong and the kids have only had one or two days where they said they didn't want to go. They are really enjoying it all!
My resolution is to put up some pictures so you can all check out the new addition growing in my belly. Yes! We went ahead and got pregnant. I was actually pregnant when I wrote my last entry but didn't know it yet. Life is changing rapidly for the Praught family. We're all very excited about the new baby boy that will appear around May long weekend. We have some major transitions to make and are eager to get going on them.
I must get the kids off to bed....I hear them thundering up the stairs as their dad tells them it's a race to the bathroom. "Who can brush their teeth the fastest?" That can't be a good thing but it gets them moving.

I just survived the first week of school. Well, I didn't go to school, my kids did. My son started grade 1 this year. Tuesday was his first day and I have to say, standing outside of the school with 5 grade one classes and all their parents was a little overwhelming. But we all survived. I managed to keep my composure up until I say my son lined upwith all his fellow classmates. The line started to dissapear into the school and my heart started pounding a mile a minute. My little boy is going for the whole day...no transition...no half day...no looking back...
Wow, I'm really impressed with his confidence. I can't believe what a little warrior he his. He loves his teacher, and is making new friends and loves school. I'm so proud of him. I will tell him that tonight!!
My daughter just started preschool today. She was only there for an hour and had a fantastic time. I could tell she was apprehensive and shy at first and I wanted to stay and protect her for the whole hour but I pulled myself away after 20 minutes. She's very independant but since I quit work and started a dayhome she's been with me everyday and has gotten used to having me around. She's become slightly more clingy.

It's time....time is slipping away and I can't do anything to stop it. I was told this would happen and to prepare myself for it. WOW...how do you do that? I cry a lot more and feel sad...miss those baby days, toddler days...each passing day I see them growing more and developing in new ways, displaying attitude that I feel only a teenager should display. UGH, How did we get here so fast? And where are we going? This is a crazy ride that just won't stop...but sometime each day it does slow down long enough for me to breath a sigh and relax with lots of hugs and snuggles. Thank God for those hugs!! They make my day and bring a smile to my face.

I thought I'd be writing a blog everyday and here it's been quite awhile since I've written anything. You know how it goes when you're a mom of little ones, time is in short supply...well, personal time anyway.
These last couple of weeks have flown by....I can't believe it's already July 26th. If you asked me in March I would have thought our whole basement would be complete by this time and we'd be entertaining in our new rec room. Yeah....right. It hasn't been worked on since March. And our shed that was started in the fall still only has 1/4 of the roof shingled, and needs to be painted. Yikes! What an example we are setting of our children about starting what you finish. Needless to say this has been a fantastic summer of camping, Stampeding and spending time with friends.

This past weekend we camped at Mt. Kidd Campground. Ahh, the sun, the heat, the bugs and of course the smell of campfire resonating from our skin. It was one of the best weekends yet! The only thing that really annoyed me was a crow or raven (which ever one is bigger) that woke us all up at 4 am on Sat morning with a CAW that sounded like something or someone was torturing it. It started out as a normal sounding Caw and then changed slowly to something straight out of the movie "Failure to Launch". After about 20 mins of this horrific sounding caw that got louder and louder and sicker and sicker sounding "Ahk!, Gaak!", I started to laugh....because at that point I felt like I was going mad!!! Someone decided to put us all out of our misery and threw something at it and scared it off. That goodness for that. I went back to sleep for a little while longer and when I woke up again it was to the sweet voices of my children loudly calling, "Mom, I have to go pee, Right Now!!!" I'm up, I'm up!!!! What a great weekend!!

This is my first BOLG! I'm so excited! I've been meaning to start a blog for sometime, and was finally prompted to by a friend of mine. She so kindly walked me thru the steps in order to get started.
So, here goes......
Today happens to be my hubby's and my 10 year wedding anniversary. Apparently, this is the Tin or Aluminum anniversary. Great, how about a can of soup?
However......
My hubby has surprised me with an over-nighter in a swank hotel in Canmore. Sweet! The kids are going for a "Sleep-over" at my friend's house down the street. They are ecstatic, to say the least. My son has been asking for the past few months when he'll be old enough for a sleep over. I keep telling him, not until you're 10. In a pinch 6 will do.
You've got to be really comfortable with someone to leave your kids overnight at their house. I have no worries about leaving them. Oddly enough, I don't even feel guilty.
This is probably due to the fact that hubby and I haven't been out on a date for at least two months. That rainy Friday night when we called our sitter last minute and told her she could bring a friend, and watch a movie, anything to get her over here. Then we headed out for dessert at Ricky's, and downed an extremely weak crantini. We proceeded to the theater, only to discover that the two main movies we wanted to see were all sold out. GREAT!
Arriving home 2 hours early with a rental from Blockbuster, we scared the crap out of the sitter and her friend as we walked thru the door. After I drove the girls home, we tried to stay awake as we sat thru the movie and then crawled up to bed just after midnight. This is what happens when you've been married for 10 years.
Back to that....I should probably buy my hubby something for this grand occasion. I think maybe a lovely watch. I bought him one for our proposaversary almost 11 yrs ago. You know, he still has it but it's damaged to the point where I think a replacement is in order. Somehow I'll have to get out to the mall before we leave tomorrow and get him one, so I can have a surprise for him.
